Ilustration In Pursuance Of Books Bound to Shadows (Riley Jenson Guardian #8)
In the darkness, demons come out to play…and someone must bring their sins to light. Part vampire, part werewolf, Riley Jenson knows what can happen when vamps don’t play well with others. But she’s never seen anything like this: a series of brutal murders surrounding the latest hot spot for vampire-human hookups—and the victims aren’t just killed, they’re beheaded. Now Riley is launching into action, toying with a seductive—and highly suspicious—club owner, and finding herself in the middle of another mystery: women being killed one by one, without a trace of violence. For Riley, solving multiple cases—in a world going mad with human and vampire passions—would have been tough enough. Instead she has two jealous lovers on her hands: Kye Murphy, the amber-eyed werewolf who makes Riley’s wolf blood howl—and Quinn, the cool, elegant vamp who has over a thousand years’ experience at fulfilling women’s desires. While she’s busy juggling these two sexy beasts, Riley’s detective work takes a stunningly violent turn. Finding a murderer is now a matter of life and death. Especially since the killer has long since found her…Details Books Toward Bound to Shadows (Riley Jenson Guardian #8)

Best of the series so far but it comes with a priceI will tell you straight off that the Riley Jensen Guardian series has never been one of my favs. I read the first four a while ago, and couldnt continue because I felt like it was more filler than a series that grabs your attention and doesnt let go until there are no more books. This is not to say its not a good series, it is, but that unfortunately for me its simply not a must read series. Anyways, with a smaller than usual TBR bookshelf,Riley Jenson yet again kicks butt in her unique way! As a fan of this series I have to say I wasn't disappointed!! I really feel for Riley as she torn between the vamp she loves and the wolf who she really dislikes that has turned out to be her soul mate. Fate doesn't seem to be too kind to her.... But that's not the worst of it her soul mate is more than just a bit dangerous.... He's a hired killer who seems intent on tearing her world apart!
First let me start by saying I LOVE this series. Each book is a great new mystery with romance and suspense. This installment is my favorite so far. I could not put it down. It had the same characters as usual with a few new characters such as Dante Stark, the sexy vampire club owner who has sexual powers. Riley has a lot of emotional and physical problems in this book, more so than usual. Her wolf soul-mate Kye is back and he's causing big trouble for Riley and her loved ones. Theres a crazy
This book broke my heart completely. I felt like when Riley saw Kye kill Kade part of my heart shattered then for her to have to kill Kye her wolf soulmate. My heart broke the rest away right along with Riley. She wanted to find her wolf soulmate so bad and it turned out to be a nightmare for her. I hope Quinn can help pull her through this dark time for her.
Perhaps its a good thing that the Guardian series is coming to a close soon. Bound to Shadows left me feeling like Riley Jensen is a complete anti-hero who, after eight books, I simply can not respect or empathize with at all. God knows I've tried.SPOILER IN NEXT PARAGRAPH!Early in the book we are confronted with "he shot my brother so I arched my back so he could better access my clit" and it just got more stupid after that. The pity here is that the murder mystery wasn't too bad, but the
Only one to go - oh no what will I do then!Originally read this book 21-24th January 2011. Started re-read 21st February 2012.Finished my re-read of Bound to Shadows and I found it so much more enthralling than the first time. The storyline just intensified further, and there were some great revelations that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I really love the 'Kye and Riley' growth in this episode and where things went with them. It was a real battle of wills and a creative and exciting
Just, WOW! Best of the series so far. I'm still speechless and full of emotion. Tears are literally streaming down my face. The next book has some serious shoes to fill.
