Fernando SAvater chooses to give you a lot of bagage that you can choose to use in your own life. what's so interesting and inspiring about this book is the fact that Savater doesn't try to convince of his opinion, the choice is fuly yours. Because of this freedom you automatically begin to think about some stuff in life that you want to do differently. No dogma's allowed would be a nice title for the book that explains in three words what it's really about. If you're searches for answers, don't

I first started to read this book because my favorite math teacher said that it was and awesome book and that I should add it to my "read books" list so I ask my parents about it and they also said that it was amazing and that we actually had the book in the library, it was the new millennium's edition, so now, 15 year later it looks like an old newspaper. I expected a book full of ethical facts and some kind of old Greek philosophy but no, it totally surprised me and I'm very happy with this

If it wasn't so redundant (as it has many examples and explains a lot of times the same idea) it would've been a faster read but overall is a very good book to analize the way we act and how it is determined by what we are told it is good or bad. Ethics depend on each one's perspective of life, notion of what's the right or wrong thing to do and how we have been raised.

This was an assignment at medical school. I found it very concise, using layman speech to explain moral topics. Is a good start, introductory approach to ethics. Good for teens.

I had to read this book for the monthly reading in my Spanish class. I liked the fact that it was written for a teenager in mind, so the language is easy to understandthe author doesnt overcomplicate things. Now, onto the actual content. The book did not contain anything that I had never heard before, but they are topics that never hurt to think a little bit more about. This book allowed me to reflect and formulate my own opinions about certain things that humans do.

In the dark times to come, ethics is needed. Savater's longing for ethics is a longing for humanity, for freedom and responsibility. Writing to an adolescent, his proposal for an ethics resonates to the many who haven't grown up yet and to the many who, like Nietzsche argues, live with resentment imposing moralistic form of living. In doing that, they reduce freedom to systematic forms of oppression.

A nice, well writen book about moral philosophy put in a modern frame. Since the author supposedly explains the basic moral dilemmas to his son, it s not complicated but it s also not annoyingly simplifying.
