I was so annoyed while reading this story that I almost gave up and didn't finish. I felt like I was dropped into the middle of a story without explanation as to what was happening. There were terms like FRU-an acronym I'm sure stood for something but I had no idea what. I slowly realized that this was probably not the first book in a series. About half way through the book I realized what I had done. I meant to purchase Born at Midnight which was the first book in the Shadow Falls Series but

4,5 starsThis was waaaaaaaaaaay better than Kylie's story. And this is just the first book.The only reasons I'm not giving this full five stars is...1. The conversation of Della and Burnett about him not letting her investigate because she's a girl. I thought it was great this was brought up, because I felt like that with Kylie, too, but she didn't seem to notice, so I'm glad Della did. But I was only glad the first time. Then they had the conversation again...and again...and again. I got it.
