Description Toward Books First Night of Summer
WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES, a father discovers that a journey of misfortune is sometimes the path to deliverance. The quaint mountain town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, is the perfect place for Isaac Snow to raise his family. But when eight-year-old daughters, Caroline and Josie, commit an innocent act of heroism, media coverage attracts the wrong kind of attention. Soon, their life unravels, leading them to the crossroads of love and hate, forgiveness and retribution. In the dark hours of a drizzly morning, Isaac, an ex-air force pilot, wakes to find a masked intruder cradling one of the twins in his arms. Before he can react, the man in black leaps through the nearest window, plummeting in a tangle of body parts and glass. Isaac charges in pursuit, but is suddenly faced with a new dilemma. Caroline is unconscious, lying facedown in the lawn, cuts from the shattered window saturating her pajamas. If he gives chase, his little girl will surely bleed to death.
From a secretive loner with a pension for unrestrained violence to the pristine granite peaks of the Rocky Mountains--from laughter filled family dinners to a string of cross-country abductions, LANDON PARHAM'S debut novel relentlessly explores the horrific realities of unnatural lust and obsession. Taken well beyond the investigation and law-enforcement tactics, you'll find yourself steeped in journey of evil and torment, and the power of family that overcomes it all. Suspenseful, bold and meticulously researched; a true psychological thriller that captures the heart.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. It was amazing from beginning to end. I almost put it down a couple times because the heart wrenching actions and thought process of antagonist Ricky Doors, a sadistic pedophile was almost too much for me to bear. However, these things really happen. It is taboo because the reality of it cripples us, but it's not fair to the small victems to ignore it. this story made me laugh, cry, and shudder in fear. Landon Parham is a new fantastic addition to"First Night of Summer" is a fast-paced thriller that exposes the dark concealed recesses of the evil heart. A shocking and terrifying read that follows a pedophile that meticulously seeks out his victims and then carefully maps out a plan to abduct his prey. Isaac Snow took deliberate steps to protect his family by deciding to raise his loved ones in what appeared to be a small, safe community. But as we quickly discover, sometimes that is not enough. This book is a graphic and disturbing read
"First Night Summer" is an emotionally-charged psychological thriller set in Ruidoso, New Mexico, a quiet mountain town where Issac and Sarah Snow live with their twin daughters- Josie and Caroline. After the girls are publicly acclaimed for their heroic rescue of a four year old they are stalked by a psychotic pedophile whose sexual gratification comes from torturing, raping, and killing young girls. After the thwarted kidnapping of the twins and a tragic death, the family continues to be
I decided to read this book based on a glowing Goodreads review. This book sucked me in from the very beginning. It was creepy getting into the mind of a child predator, but the book was well-written and suspenseful - one of the best I read this year. I couldn't put it down, as I had to see how it all wrapped up in the end. I HIGHLY recommend it for readers who love drama/crime/suspense.
This book is a matererly brilliant stroke of a creation it demanded a read in nearly one sitting. The story is creepy and gets under your skin. It enrages you from the sickness one can have and how it preys upon the innocent (Yes, I said "it" because the character is a Monster he has no right to be called a human anymore). This is my first read of this author and if his other works are like this one.....then I cannot wait to read them! This author knows how to character build and pull you into
Fascinating, clever and chilling.First, I loved that the setting takes place in Ruidoso, New Mexico with such vast, beautiful landscape. Let me preface this review by saying, this novel maybe hard to read in some parts, but it doesn't make it any less brilliant. Filled with heartfelt moments, the first section is devastating as you the reader witness that the lives of these children are brutally cut short. It is amazing how Parham is able to create such intense suspense despite the reader being
