This book seems like it will be the exact same as Book two, but it isn't. It sounds so much different reading it from the granddaughter's viewpoint than from the grandson's. The experiences are the same but different. The recipes are different, the poems are words in one and music in the other. These books are just so different from any I have ever read or heard of. So creative and heartwarming. I am sure I'll read these books yearly.This was a quick read, because it is the "flip-side" of Marsman's second novel, Because of Grandfather. This version is told from the point of view of the daughter/mother/grandmother - all the generations that gathered around that fateful apple tree, that fed and nurtured several generations with love and countless apple treats. I was given a copy of this book by Ali Marsman and in return I offer a non-biased review.I greatly enjoyed reading this book. One of my favorite genres are books that bring you in so close you feel like you know the people inside, and you forget that what you are reading is fiction.
