"The Search for Alice" is a modern and unique twist on Alice In Wonderland. It has it's own story and own and reimagined characters. Speaking of characters and twists, When I read about what it was about, Ches caught my attention. What is a vampire doing in Kallie's Wonderland? I have always had a weak spot for vampires, werewolves etc so I was excited for this aspect. The plot also did sound pretty intriguing as I love fairy tales, Mixing a classic fairy tale and vampires and a jaded character?

I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I know my rating is markedly different than others and won't be popular, but I just can't give it more than 2 stars...even that is a bit of a stretch. The writing is stilted, all over the place, and clunky. The main character, Kallie, is mostly annoying and not strong at all. In fact, she spends a good part of the book complaining about everyone else in her life and much of the rest of it hoping that a boy will save her. About 50% through, I started

Amy Koto blends classic storytelling with an innovative approach to the classic Alice in Wondrland tale. Her modern characters brought back nostalgia for books I read as a teen with a modern twist. Her main character kept my attention and she used different twists and plot turns that I didnt expect. A fun book for sure and look forward to more works from Ms. Koto

The Search for Alice is wonderfully written and a captivating twist on a classic tale. Amy Koto has done a great job of incorporating modern fantasy in a way that resonates with her readers. I am a high school teacher and I am always looking for books that will engage my reluctant readers. I was able to share this book with a few of them and they loved it. My most reluctant reader immediately related to the character of Kallie and she ended up finishing the book in 2 days! I've never heard her

Finished this book in one day , the perfect read for a beautiful day to sit outside and get lost in this book . If you like the classic Alice in wonderland youd love this darker spin on the tale . KallieBegans to see that Wonderland is a scary place , just as mad as her own reality. Kallie and Ches relationship is one of a kind BUT she soon realizes if she leaves wonderland she must leave him behind as well . I am a fan of darker twists on our favorite fairy tales and this did not disappoint! The story grabbed me right away, entertaining and definitely not predictable. Kallie, choosing not to be a victim of her circumstances, goes on a journey leading to growth and important realizations about who she is and what she is capable of. Looking forward to the next story!
