Commentary In Favor Of Books The Bones of Makaidos (Oracles of Fire #4)
A wall of fire protects the inexperienced villagers of Second Eden from a planned invasion of dragons and Nephilim, but how long will the flames last? Billy, Walter, Ashley, Elam, and the faithful dragons help the people prepare, but they are woefully outnumbered and will have to go back to Earth and recruit the humans who have the ability to revert to their former dragon states. In search of aid, Billy escorts Acacia, an Oracle of Fire, through a dangerous volcano portal.
Meanwhile, Sapphira, Acacia’s Oracle sister, stays in the underworld with Bonnie and Shiloh, waiting for the signal to emerge and join the battle. With Hades and Earth locked in a catastrophic merging of their two realms, Arramos, evil incarnate, plans to use Bonnie to add Second Eden to the merging of the worlds, thereby drawing his forces to Heaven’s Gate, where he hopes to gain access to divine authority.
Arramos has two secret weapons: Sir Devin, the greatest of all dragon slayers, lies in wait to destroy all dragons and their offspring, including Billy and Bonnie; and Mardon, a brilliant scientist, knows the secret to the Oracles’ indestructibility, and he has devised a way to steal it from Acacia, thereby draining her strength.
During these preparations, Semiramis, Mardon’s mother, comes to Second Eden and provides Billy with a wealth of information about Arramos’s plans, and with every subsequent challenge, her words are proven true. But can she be trusted?
With mysteries abounding and an ultimate battle looming, every decision could mean the difference between survival and catastrophe, and only a prophesied sacrifice can stop the onslaught of evil. But who will be the sacrificial lamb?

Bryan Davis' The Bones of Makaidos is a compelling novel that drags the reader into the story and gives them new renditions of the ways people should act and feel.A theme in this book is that waiting is not to be despised, but to be loved for the challenges that it presents. The author gives perspectives of many of the main characters. You see from the eyes of the good and the evil characters. He gives you just enough information to force you to long to read the next page, and then the one4.9 starsReally good, the only reason it didn't get a perfect five was because there was so much going on I felt like I missed something. It was great seeing everything end happily. My only complaint is the time jump. I understand why they needed to be older during the final events but it seemed abrupt.
WOW. There are some ways to describe this book....most of them with lots of screaming. And me bawling at the end. Sure, maybe it's not the most in-depth written book, and there's definitely some...moments. But ultimately? It's beautiful. So, so beautiful that all I could do was lay there and smile/sigh/cry by the time I finished. PROF CAME BACK FOR THE FREAKIN' WEDDING. LIKE YESSSSSSSSSSSS. That's it. That's all that needs to be said.

This book is literally one that I did not want to put down. Being in college, it was so hard to set it aside and do my homework, but once all my other obligations were taken care of, I picked this book up and just devoured it with my mind. At first, I was not sure if I liked how there were so many characters to follow, so many story-lines, but in the end, Mr. Davis reveals how powerful a story he created. You get caught up in the lives of these fictional characters. I laughed, I cried, I wanted
(Second or third read.)This book. Its one of my favorites EVER. I dont know how to begin reviewing it, so lets go with the old likes/dislikes.WHAT I LIKED:-How about EVERYTHING.-Pretty much all the DIOM characters return and form an epic army.-Abaddons alliteration.-The Maids uplifting speech.-Semiramis adds the perfect tension every time shes around.-Everything is intense and so many people get hurt! The stakes are especially high in this one.-Beautiful, brilliant themes of sacrificial love
The climax of the eight book series and sequel series. I don't know what to say about the plot actually. It was fast-paced as usual. Exciting and original. But those are just adjectives. It certainly was a great way to end the series, though. After reading it I simply can't put my reactions to word.there is only one thing I remember having trouble with in this book. At the half-way point in the book you really have to force yourself through. It is just really dry. The first two chapters in the
After reading "Last of the Nephilim" I didn't think that Bryan Davis could get any better. I WAS WRONG!!! This book was the best ending I could have asked for. It brought complete closure to the series. It was a bittersweet feeling though. It felt that I was losing the friends that I have spent the last 5 or so years getting to know. This is definitely a top book for my MUST RECOMMEND list. I will definitely be reading this over and over again for years to come. It applies to all aspects of
