Representaion Toward Books White Wolf (The Drenai Saga #10)

The start of a gripping new series in the tradition of The Drenai Tales

Skilgannon the Damned had vanished from the pages of history. Following the terrible triumph at Perapolis, the General had taken the legendary Swords of Night and Day and ridden from the lands of Naashan. No-one knew where he had gone, and the assassins sent by the Witch Queen could find no trace of his passing.

Three years later, as a mob intent on murder gathers outside a distant monastery, they are faced by a single unarmed priest. In a few terrifying seconds their world is changed for ever, and word spreads across the lands of the East.

Skilgannon is back.

Now he must travel across a perilous, demon-haunted realm seeking a mysterious temple, and the ageless goddess who rules it. With assassins on his trail, and an army of murderous foes ahead, the Damned sets off on a quest to bring the dead to life. But he does not travel alone.

The man beside him is Druss the Legend.

In a world torn by war, White Wolf is a page-turning tale of love, betrayal and treachery, which examines the nature of heroism and friendship and the narrow lines that divide good from evil, redemption from damnation.

Discuss Of Books White Wolf (The Drenai Saga #10)
Terrific book for even non-fans of historical/fantasy fiction. Druss is surely one of the best print heroes created while Skilgannon joins him to create a terrific cast of heroes. Druss is visibly creaking, but still hurtles into action with alacrity, supported by the whirling blades of Skilgannon. Interesting supporting cast, and builds up to the crescendo of the final chronological book, Legend.

nice read, and as gemmell is best at philosophy and he knows how to write...excellent read.

This book tells the story of Skilgannon as he tries to resurrect the woman who loves him, the woman he loves tries to kill him, all the while he sleeps around with the woman who hates him, just because he can. Oh, and there are whores... lots of them. This is the first Gemmell book I read, and damn it was boring. If it wasn't for the fact that I read this together with my fiancé, I may have given up on it. The writing itself is quite good, but the way the story was told really didn't work for me.

Many years ago I read all David Gemmell's books as they were released and enjoyed the vast majority of them. Whilst pouring over other books searching for something new to read I came across "Skilgannon, The damned" which for some reason I must have missed, back in the day, along with it's companion volume, The swords of night and day. I bought both along with a few other books by different authors.I suspect that it is twenty years or more since I last read a novel by David Gemmell but I fell

As one expects from David Gemmell - this is stonking good, heroic fantasy. To be honest, this could be a review for any of his books - strong, three-dimensional characters and all-action storylines. Through it all he weaves themes of good vs evil (and all of the grey areas in between), guilt and redemption, courage and cowardice.Where this book slightly slips (in my opinion) is that it has a feel of Gemmell's greatest hits about it. Skilgannon is a worthy and suitably guilt-ridden hero, but he's

White Wolf (The Drenai Saga, #10), David GemmellWhite Wolf: A novel of Druss the legened. Skilgannon, a former army general attempts to put his life of violence behind him, becoming a monk. However, this is not to be as he is forced to confront civil unrest in the realm, meeting Druss the Legend along the way and joining him in his quest to save a friend and his daughter. White Wolf is a 2003 novel by British fantasy writer David Gemmell. It was the penultimate Drenai Series novel written but
