Tbh I didnt finish this one, I couldnt, i tried so hard! The story is promising and all, its just i have a huge difficulty reading in arabic. Cant seem to get into the mood of the book or enjoy it. Its not for the beauty of the arabic language, but out of habit of me reading English only books and novels.

The story is, or more accurately the stories are, captivating, mainly because of how descriptive the narration is. However, there is no message or even a united story. Just small problems and mysteries left unsolved.

takes you to another world , another time... but needed to focus on some important characters.but still when i put my hand on it , i can't leave it

Such an amazing novel I enjoyed it very much I have not read any thing like it in Avery long time

It was truly on the best novels I've read during during 2013.I loved the writer's way of expressing the feelings of both "Ali" and "Nour Allah", how he described Samarkand, and even the historical facts throughout the whole novel. If you like reading about different cultures mixed with different human experiences...then this novel is definitely for you.Cheers!
