Chronicle As Books A Lua de Joana

A Lua de Joana, written by Maria Teresa Maia Gonzalez is a book about teenage problems, especially drug addiction. After her friend Marta dies of an overdose, Joana starts writing letters to her, to understand her and to forgive her. The reader finds himself knowing Joana's deepest thoughts, her friends, her "experiments".
It was an interesting book to read, especially because I'd never read anything like this and I recommend it to teens, especially, but parents can read it too because the main character often talks about her own progenitors and most things she says are not very nice, so this can be a wake-up call for them.

The ending, though, was awkward, I didn't get it...

Commentary Out Of Books A Lua de Joana
This is an amazing book and should be reference for every teenager to avoid entering the drugs life!!! I read this book when I was 13...

I understand that this book plays a secondary role of providing the readers with the awareness of substance abuse issues and I commend the writer for doing this. However, in my opinion, the author could have done a better job on the narrative front. The ending of the novel felt too abrupt.

Please, don't read this book, it's a complete waste of time. It stereotypes every single thing it mentions. It's chaotic, and it sounds more like and advertisement to not do drugs then a real book.

Bit boring. The only good part was the end.

The story that accompanied me in my teens, perhaps the first books I read with the awareness of what I was reading, marked me and will always be a reference to that phase of my life.

I read this book a few years ago (I was probably 12-13) and until today I still remember it and have good memories about it.Although it is not one of my first choices I recommend it.

Loved this book, quite similar to Christiane F's book.
